Today we launched a new feature enabling guests to extend their stay on Tipi. Hostels want their guests to extend direct with them – but guests prefer to extend on their smartphone from the (relative) comfort of their dorm!
Of course this means the hostel pays a commission to the OTA even though the guest is currently staying with them…
As guests use Tipi during their stay to check-in, meet other guests & stay up to date with what’s on in the hostel – it was a logical step for us to add this feature. Guests want to extend on their mobile – Hostels don’t want to pay commission.
It’s early days but we already seen a lot of guests extending with Tipi – which saves the hostel commission and staffing costs for housekeeping. Good result!
